Issues

Jeff will work tirelessly on your behalf, listening to your needs and making balanced, sensible decisions that prioritize the well-being of our entire city.

Housing

As a community, we must prioritize the creation of housing that serves our workforce—teachers, first responders, hospitality service workers, and others who are the backbone of Morro Bay. Jeff is committed to promoting appropriately scaled development that respects the character of our town while ensuring that those who contribute to our community can afford to live here. By focusing on thoughtfully designed, sustainable housing solutions, we can maintain the unique charm of Morro Bay while addressing the essential needs of our local workforce.

Economic Development

Supporting local businesses and fostering sustainable economic development are vital to preserving the unique character and vibrancy of Morro Bay. Jeff is dedicated to creating an environment where local entrepreneurs can thrive, ensuring that the economy remains resilient and diverse. By promoting responsible growth, investing in the downtown and waterfront, and attracting visitors in a way that respects community values, Jeff believes we can boost the local economy while maintaining the small-town charm that makes Morro Bay special. Together, we can build a prosperous future that benefits all residents and maintains our town's unique spirit.

Roads and Infrastructure

Maintaining and improving our infrastructure is essential to the quality of life in Morro Bay. We must ensure that our roads, utilities, and public spaces are well-maintained and equipped to meet current and future needs. Jeff is committed to investing in infrastructure projects that enhance the daily lives of our residents. Traffic management is also a key concern, especially during peak tourist seasons. He will work to implement smart, effective solutions that reduce congestion, improve safety, and make our streets more walkable and bike-friendly.

It's clear we need to do better with regard to our streets and pavement management plan. The potholes and accumulated gravel in front of many of your homes are unacceptable.

Power Plant Property and the proposed BESS (Battery Energy Storage System)

The power plant property is a critical asset in Morro Bay, and its future should align with our community's vision and needs. Zoned for visitor-serving commercial use, this property has the potential to become a vibrant hub that enhances our town's appeal and supports our local economy. I am committed to promoting development that respects this zoning, envisioning uses that benefit both residents and visitors while preserving the unique character of Morro Bay.

I am adamantly opposed to the proposed Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project. This industrial use is not in line with the zoning or the community's vision for this property. The risks associated with such a project, including potential fire hazards and the impact on our town's small coastal character and environment, are too great. I will work strenuously to ensure that the future of the power plant property reflects the values and priorities of Morro Bay, focusing on sustainable, community-centered development that serves us all.
